When Lou Bloom, desperate for work, muscles into the world of L.A. crime journalism, he blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story. Aiding him in his effort is Nina, a TV-news veteran.

Lou almost meets with an accident while driving to a crime scene. The crashes into a tree - we see the injured driver with a bleeding face.

We hear a gunshot inside a house. Two guys run out -and flee in an SUV. Lou enters and takes pics of the dead. We see blood on the staircase, a woman lying dead in bed and a man lying in a pool of blood.

Cops arrive at a restaurant. The suspect draws his gun and starts a firefight. A few cops and a suspect are gunned down. The surviving suspect flees in a car and is chased by the cops. There is an accident - and the car flips. Lou asks his associate to shoot the scene. The injured suspect shoots him dead (blood spray). The suspect then fires at the cops and is shot dead. The associate breathes his last and dies. We later see the clip on TV.
Lou knocks out a guard who confronts him.
