The story of the miraculous evacuation of Allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain, Canada and France, who were cut off and surrounded by the German army from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk between May 26th and June 4th 1940 during World War II.

Bombers raid the beach. The soldiers panic and then duck for cover. We see explosions - and a soldier getting blown up. We see corpses.

A bomber attacks the bridge. The bridge is hit a few times causing casualties. The ship is also hit - and starts sinking. Soldiers jump out and swim to safety.
0:36:00 — 0:41:00
A British fighter plane is hit - and starts to go down. The pilot prepares to eject.
A torpedo strikes the ship. The hall is flooded with water. The soldiers struggle to make to the escape. The soldier outside opens the door - and some of them manage to escape out. They jump in the water and swim to safety.

During a dogfight, the plane goes down in the sea. The pilot is shown giving a thumbs up.
The soldier swim to safety - but the lifeboat has no space.
During a scuffle, a boy trips down stairs and suffers a major head injury.
During a dogfight, a German plane is hit.
1:01:20 — 1:12:50
The trawler is hit with bullets. The tide rises and water starts filling in the holes. One of the soldiers trying to plug the hole gets shot. The men take a vote to kick out someone. After a brief scuffle, the trawler starts floating in water - but continues to take fire. During a dogfight, a British plane goes down in the sea. The pilot tries to escape - but is unable to free himself. The pilot gets desperate as the cabin fills up with water. A boat closes in, breaks the glass and rescues the pilot. A ship is bombed - it starts tilting and then sinking. We see men jump in the water and swim to safety.
1:19:40 — 1:25:00
A soldier is rescued from a sunk ship. We learn about a death. A plane is hit by anti-air fire - it goes down in an oil path. Soldiers swim away from the sinking ship.
1:25:00 — 1:25:45
The water catches fire. The boat speeds out of danger - dragging a soldier with them. The soldiers left behind catch fire. We see the scene from underwater. We hear them scream in agony.
A group of British soldiers are shot at. Only one of them survives and rushes back behind French bunkers.
