 The kids run to their father. They hear a creature and hide under a pickup truck. The father follows the creature with an ax - tries to swing it - but is knocked out. The creature then turns to the kids hiding inside the pickup truck. It violently shakes the vehicle. The father gets up - bids the kids goodbye - and lets out a loud scream. The creature hears the scream - turns, charges and kills him (off-camera). The distraction allows the kids to run to safety.
