Colorado Springs, late 1970s. Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer, and Flip Zimmerman, his Jewish colleague, run an undercover operation to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan.

During a KKK meeting, a new member is aggressively questioned. They question the Holocaust, use homosexual slurs, and talk about their penises. Someone throws a stone at the window. The members chase the attacker and fire their guns - but he flees.

Two separate groups narrate stories about violence. One of them talks about a woman getting raped by African-Americans. The other talks about a black man - accused of raping a girl - being dragged out by a mob. The mob cut his fingers, cut out his testicles, doused him with petrol and set him on fire. They then display pictures of his charred body.

A woman, on a mission to kill black activists, plants a bomb under their car. A detective tracks her down - tackles her and tries to restrain her. Some other cops arrive - and restrain the detective (since he is black), and start hitting him with batons. The detective's partner arrives and frees him. Meanwhile, the KKK members arrive and unwittingly park next to the rigged car. They trigger the bomb and end up killing themselves.
